West Lothian Leisure are looking to run a 5 a side league on their
astro turf surfaces at their Centres through out West Lothian and are
require referees. The person to contact is Alex Muir, phone 07786
250920 or email amuir@westlothianleisure.com. The league is affiliated
to the SAFA and will run on a Monday & Friday nights from
6.30-9.30pm.
Members are advised that discounts from sponsors
Specsavers are available. Please contact the Secretary for more
details.
Members who would be interested in refereeing in the Lothian &
Edinburgh Amateur FA leagues are asked to contact their Secretary Mr
Charlie Gallacher. His contact details can be found in the handbook.

4th May: We are delighted to announce the appointment of Keith Sorbie
as Assistant Referee to the Tennents Scottish Cup Final between Celtic
and Dunfermline Athletic on 26th May. Congratulations and best wishes
to Keith. Congratulations also go to Graham Chambers and Thomas

11th April: All members are reminded by Council of the importance of
prompt submission of teamlines to league secretaries following the end
of a match. This is particulary important at this time of year with
midweek fixtures taking place between now and the end of the season.
7th April: Major Roadworks will be taking place on the Forth Road
Bridge starting 13th April. This will occur over 16 weekends from that
date and a contraflow system will be in operation from 19:00hrs on
Friday until 06:00hrs on Monday. Members are advised to allow extra
time for journeys which involve crossing the bridge. For more

18th May: Final SPL Appointments of the
season for Edinburgh Referees added.
5th April: Many congratulations all to the new entrants (40 in
Midlothian, 15 in West Lothian and 5 in the Borders) who have passed
through the first two stages on their way to becoming new referees.
They now have to officiate two games under observation and we wish them
luck as they embark on their refereeing career.
27th February: We have recieved a request from the Edinburgh &
District Sunday Amateur FA (The Fair Play League) for referees.
Should anybody be interested officiating in this League they
should contact either their League Secretary Keith Jones (07814
403278), keithjones2004@blueyonder.co.uk or their Referee Secretary Len
Blackie (07881 440 2016).
29th January: West Lothian Under 12's Soccer Sevens League. We
have been asked by this league to remind members no 11-a-side matches
will be sanctioned by this league. The league shall not issue
any
permits for such matches and they have therefore not been
sanctioned.
We would not expect any member to referee an unsactioned match.

15th February: We are delighted to hear that Dougie McDonald has been
appointed to referee the CIS Insurance Cup Final at Hampden next month
between Kilmarnock and Hibernian. Congratulations Dougie! More

programme on Friday 26th at 8pm. Tune in to 810 MW to hear Dougie being
grilled on "the most petty and ill-informed programme on radio".
